On Wednesday 5th December 2012 ,
afternoon at the Goethe-Institut was held a Christmas quiz organised by
the GATG (Ghana Association of Teachers of Ghana) and the Ghanaian
branch of Verein Deutsche Sprache e.V. (Association of German Language )
directed by Hayford A. Anyidoho. The main object of the event
according to Hayford A. Anyidoho, (who is also the Organizing Secretary
of the GATG), is to give participants an insight into the christmas
tradition of the German speaking countries in Europe and to facilitate
the socialisation between German learners from 5 different institutions
(Goethe-Institut, Ghana Institute of Languages, Accra Wesley Girls SHS,
Accra Academy SHS, Robert memorial Complex school of Accra) .
In
the final round a student named Mawuyo Kofi Obidiaba Obidiaba (3rd Year
Student of Ghana Institute of Languages / School of Translators) won
against Mensah Komla Felix (4rd Year Student of Ghana Institute of
Languages / School of Translators). Both students amazingly displayed in
more than 20 minutes their German skills and made it at time difficult
for the jury members to choose their questions as the two contestants
did not let them finish their questions before they threw the answers on
everybody.
The quiz was supported by the Goethe-Institut Ghana and the German Embassy in Ghana.
